What lubricating oil should be selected for reciprocating hydrogen sulfide compressor?

According to the special working conditions of reciprocating hydrogen sulfide compressor (strong corrosiveness, high temperature and high pressure, oil-free lubrication requirements), the selection of lubricating oil should follow the following core principles and technical specifications:

I. Selection of Base Oil Type

1. Prohibited mineral oil: Mineral oil contains aromatic hydrocarbon and sulfur impurities, which react with hydrogen sulfide to generate corrosive sulfide, accelerating equipment corrosion.

2. Synthetic oil is preferred: ester synthetic oil: polar molecular structure enhances the adsorption force of metal surface, and its oxidation resistance at high temperature (> 120℃) is better than that of mineral oil, which is suitable for high-pressure cylinder lubrication.

Under the special working conditions (strong corrosiveness and high pressure environment) of reciprocating hydrogen sulfide compressor, the refueling operation must strictly abide by the following standard procedures and key control points:

First, safety preparation before refueling

1, the system isolation closed hydrogen sulfide compressor import and export valve, vent valve, fully open the loop valve, to ensure that the system is in a state of zero pressure. Put nitrogen sealing system into use, maintain sealing pressure ≥0.4mpa, and prevent HS from leaking.

2. Only sulfur-resistant synthetic oil (such as ester or pao base) is used for oil products, and mineral oil containing zinc/sulfur additives is prohibited.

Second, the refueling operation process

Method 1: Vacuum suction method (recommended for daily oil replenishment) Immerse the oil filling hose into the oil drum, open the crankcase oil return valve (or oil filling three-way valve), and suck the lubricating oil by pressure difference.

Method 2: High-pressure forced oiling method (suitable for first oiling after overhaul): Connect the high-pressure oil pipe to the crankcase oiling valve, slowly open the valve to inject oil, connect the high-pressure oil pipe to the crankcase oiling valve, and slowly open the valve to inject oil.
